Information on Bad Dreams
Almost everyone has experienced one or more dreams that contain anxiety or outright fear. For some, unpleasant dreams or nightmares recur repeatedly; for others, the content may change while the theme remains the same, such as scenes of falling, or of being pursued or attacked, late or unprepared for a presentation or an exam, stuck in slow motion, unable to move or scream, or naked in public, to name a few common themes. This type of experience, when unpleasant, is usually associated with lack of progress by the dreamer to recognize and solve related conflicts in life. The unnatural sea creature off the coast of Maputo in Mozambique; the blood sucking vampire in Valdivia, Chile; or the disease ridden hag in Bratislava, with her words of poison. Vampire, werewolf, spirit; creatures of the night; the paranormal; abominations or just plain misunderstood. The Dread Count Nightmare came to this realm many centuries ago, and as time progressed, he always sought a way to keep in touch with his mynions. As technical advanced continued, the Count realized there were other options which would allow him a chance to access his mynions, however, not solidify himself in their presence. This medium was called tele-communication, a link required to gain access to Bulletin Board Systems (BBS). “Bad Dreams” is the eleventh episode of the second season of the HBO original series, The Wire. The episode was written by George Pelecanos from a story by David Simon & George Pelecanos and was directed by Ernest Dickerson. It originally aired on August 17, 2003. The episode was submitted to the American Film Institute for consideration in their TV programs of the year award and the show subsequently won the award. Nightmares are more often like a vaccine than a poison. A vaccination infects us with a minute dose of a disease that mobilizes our antibodies and makes us more resistant to the virulence of smallpox or polio. As distressing as nightmares can be, they offer powerful information about issues that are distressing your child. When children share their nightmares and receive reassurance from their parents, they feel the emotional sting of the dream, but also begin the process of strengthening their psychological defenses and facing their fears with more resilience. For some, unpleasant dreams recur identically; for others, the content changes yet the theme repeats, such as scenes of falling, being pursued or attacked, late or unprepared for an exam or presentation, unable to move or scream, or having teeth fall out. This type of anxiety dream usually recur and are mainly associated with the dreamer’s failure to recognize and solve related life conflicts. Stress is a normal part of life. In small quantities, stress is good — it can motivate you and help you be more productive. However, too much stress, or a strong response to stress, can actually harm your mind and your bod over time. This can set you up for general poor health as well as specific physical or psychological illnesses like [...]
Dreams: a Therapeutic Method of Healing and Creativity
Dreams are a source of inspiration and creativity that can lead us to a deeper understanding of who we are. They are a way for us to connect with hidden parts of ourselves that may not be easily accessible to us in our conscious, awakened states. Dreams may be explored on many levels, usually with more than one interpretation or meaning. The interplay of symbols within dream images are often metaphors reflecting the dynamic that exists between the various aspects of our psyche. Dream narratives can also provide us with a unique perspective on the dynamics of our interpersonal relationships that we may not have considered, and show us where we have become stuck or one-sided. Dreams can be foretelling, giving us information about future events that have yet to occur. Sometimes dreams show us parts of ourselves that we have attempted to hide that we must learn to understand and integrate for us to become whole. In psychotherapy, an opening dream which occurs in the beginning stage of treatment can be used as a map that outlines the course of our healing process. Working with dreams can offer an opportunity to heal deep wounds that have been carried for years as they provide a means to work through past traumas. Sometimes we will have the same dream repeatedly about an ongoing dilemma in our life that we have ignored and have yet to understand. Frequently these dreams will not disappear until we look at the underlying issue being presented and move toward resolving it. Staying open and receptive to the content of our dreams can engage us in a process that allows us to heal if we are willing. For many of us dreams are an essential way for us to connect to our spirituality and discover our personal myths or life-meaning. The feelings we experience associated with our dream symbols illuminate and help us to identify inner sources of strengths that we may have become cut off from and didn’t know existed. For many artists, dreams can be a vision of future work they have yet to create before they have begun the outward expression of their idea in the physical world. The Inner Dreams Numbers in Numerology
The Inner Dream numbers of a numerology chart are calculated using only the consonants of a person’s full birth name. Write out the name (whatever appears on their birth certificate) with space below the consonants for a corresponding number. J and S are represented by the number 1. B, K and T are 2. C and L are 3. D, M and V are the number 4. N is the number 5. F and X are 6. G and P are 7. H, Q and z are 8. R is the number 9. If Y is not being used as a vowel it is represented by 7. If W does not follow another vowel and belong to the same sound (like in Shaw), it gets the number 5. Add together all of the numbers for the consonants in the name and reduce to a single digit. The master numbers of 11 and 22 should not be reduced here. The result is the Inner Dream number, which shows what a person’s inner fantasies and desires are. An Inner Dream number of 1 means the person wants to be a leader that is known for courageous, daring and inventive ideas. They want to be the first one up to the summit. Others can see them as being arrogant and cocky. A number of 2 desires close, meaningful relationships built on cooperation. They want to act as the mediator to their family and friends. Others see them as a soft, easygoing individual that doesn’t like to make waves. An Inner Dream number of 3 means the person wants to express themselves through the arts. It is a way they can express their feelings. They wish they could be happier and desire popularity and appreciation from others. A number 4 dreams of stability and organization. They are dependable and disciplined and want to be recognized as such. An Inner Dream number of 5 create dreams of freedom from responsibility. These people desire world travels, adventure and accomplishment. A number of 6 makes the desires turn towards the home and the creation and nurturing of a family. They want a loving partner and children and all that comes with domesticity. An Inner Dream number of 7 color the dreams of an introvert who only wants to study and read alone. They aspire to being a teacher of some sort, constantly surrounded by knowledge. A number of 8 create desires of power, control and authority in the business world. They want to be recognized for their abilities and strengths. A number 9 dreams of saving the world and feeding the poor. They hope that others will need them for their advice and support. The master number of 11 in the Inner Dream numbers creates dreams of idealistic illumination. They believe that there is a secret level to life that has gone unseen but feel that they are capable of informing the masses about what this secret is. The master number of 22 creates dreams of organization, [...]
I Love My Dreams!
I love my dreams because more often than not, they’re restful and relaxing. Usually they’re replays of daydreaming visions I’ve had during the day. Most of my dreams are about fishing, the sand and the surf and drinks with little umbrellas in them. That could be because I spend a lot of time during the day either fishing or thinking about the one that got away! From what I’ve read, it seems the more complicated your life is, the more chaotic your dreams at night will be. My one steadfast rule of life is never doing any unnecessary thinking! Adhering to this imperative has permitted me to rarely ever have any confusing dreams. It’s saved me a lot of money because I haven’t had to visit a psychiatrist to help me figure out what my dreams might mean! Last night my dream started with a soothing scene of the surf gently rolling onto a sugar white beach. There’s still a hint of foggy mist near the water as the sun begins to push the morning clouds aside, making the day warmer by the minute. A pelican stands at water’s edge waiting for anything edible that might wash up on shore. It slowly moves toward me, its eyes focused on my bait bucket full of shrimp. No doubt it’s seen other fishermen snatching a shrimp out of a bait bucket, to know that there’s an easy dinner if he can get rid of me long enough to score a shrimp. While sipping my last cup of coffee, my rod that was stuck in the sand suddenly goes into spasms, as something out there in the surf jerks on my line and turns the sleepy morning into a burst of activity. Grabbing the rod and setting the drag on the reel, I pull back on something that felt like I’d hooked onto a refrigerator. After wrestling with the fish which turned out to be a nice flounder, I tossed him in the cooler, stuck another shrimp on my hook, and then threw my new bait out into the surf. By now the pelican was gone, disturbed by the frenetic activity that had suddenly erupted near him. Dream professionals agree to some point that dreams are snippets, or memories of your daily experiences. I’ve read that somewhere I think, but it could be an original thought of mine, which I hope it’s not. If it is, then I’m guilty of unnecessary thinking and that could lead to all sorts of mental and physical activity which might interfere with my fishing time. Through the years I’ve learned to interpret my own dreams. It’s not really difficult if you don’t do any deep thinking during the daylight hours. I find it more satisfying to daydream about things that I like to do, hoping that my night time dreaming will be along the same lines. It seems to work! It’s a better plan than thinking about things like work and paying the electric bill. Those things will [...]
How to Interpret My Dreams?
To interpret your dreams it is important to learn what the meaning of those dreams are and how they affect your life and the way you live. The act of dreaming itself can be dated back to ancient times were they thought that dreaming was considered the supernatural communication, divine intervention, their message could be unraveled by those people with certain powers. Today most information you find about Dream Interpretation is usually found in a psychology book. Dreams are thought to be part of the world of the unconscious mind. When dreaming, the unconscious mind has access to all of your fears, desires, and inhibitions, and randomly weaves dreams that show you pictures, sounds, feelings and scents. It is believed that dreams give us important information about ourselves and those close to us. Often dreams are about conflicts, and by focusing on your dreams over a period of time, you will find that your dreams may be offering solutions about any troubled relationships you are experiencing. Place a sprig of Rosemary or Thyme under your pillow to make sure that you will not have nightmares. You can use a good sized journal and keep a record of the dreams you have, particularly if you are experiencing an unhappy or lonely time. After a week, reread your entries and see if a consistent theme is emerging. Learn from your dreams. You can also encourage your dreams to give you information on a specific topic. For Example: Recite the following three times just before you fall asleep and see if you get a sign of who your lover will be. Also, you can try placing a four-leafed clover under your pillow before you go to sleep. It is through this, that you will dream of your soul mate. Dream Interpretations
A guide to dream interpretation
Most of us dream. But only a very small percentage of us understands that dreams hold much importance and opportunity for our self growth, improvement and self discovery. But many mystics of both Eastern and Western origins are aware of the fact that dreams hold a wealth of untapped knowledge. Because of its inherently vague nature, dreams and the art of interpreting them never entered mainstream sciences. Jungian psychology is the closest mainstream science that took dreams seriously. This article is a concise description of the method of dream interpretation that I use. There are several points/guidelines to take note. The dreams are often symbolic representations of what we are experiencing or are about to experience in the near future. I have found that my dreams often convey messages of occurrences that will most likely happen within a month or so. Usually the people that we encounter in the dream symbolize the different aspects/characteristics of ourselves. For example: a woman may represent a feminine aspect of oneself even when one is male in the waking hours. Much of our repressed tendencies also tend to manifest themselves as characters in dreams as well. Have you ever wondered why we sometimes appear and behave so differently in our dreams. Well, my take is that dreaming offers an outlet for us to be ‘somebody else’ that we never had the opportunity to be during our waking hours. Often how we feel and the emotion we felt during the dream reveals and conveys much about the meaning of the symbols. Intuition and the willingness to examine ourselves with brutal honesty are two very important factors for successful analysis. Below is a list of commonly encountered symbols. In my opinion, we should always take into consideration the fact that symbols hold certain semantics and meanings that are specific to individuals. Thus the interpretations of symbols are not generic and therefore there can be no hard and fast rules with regards to dream analysis. Common dream symbolism Water- associated with emotion. Ocean or any large body of water – often represents the subconscious mind. The state of the sea often is an indication of the emotional state as well Eating/digesting- Trying to understand an issue/situation Walking- associated with learning and assimilating. Path, road or pavement- symbolises life or spiritual Path/journey House- symbolises our self. Within the house, the various rooms could represent the various aspects of self. Snake- symbolises knowledge. Tree and forest – subconscious feelings that governs our emotions Bridge- a transitional phase or period of transformation / change Below is an example of a dream and its interpretation. Dream Miss A was visiting a foreign country. She boarded a train that has a stop in a shopping complex that meanders through mountains and terrains. She remembered telling the train driver that she wanted to alight in the shopping centre so that she can find her way home. Instead of alighting at the intended destination, she alighted at a strange place. She had difficulty getting [...]

Over a typical lifetime that adds up to something like six years of dreaming. So doesn’t it make sense to be able to grab hold of all their power to help you to achieve your goals? You simply must learn to set clearly defined goals if you want to carve out a path towards the realisation of your life’s ambitions. But equally importantly you must have a plan of how you are going to achieve them. Your path to fulfilling your goals needs a map to sit upon. You will find many ways of defining your plan but one sure-fire route that is often overlooked is that of using the power of your dreams. Contained within your subconscious mind are mountains of information that is not readily available to you when you are awake. But your dreaming mind will reveal this hidden source of data. It could be in the form of secret desires or longings. Or maybe unknown inner fears will be discovered which, through the process of dream analysis, you can learn to overcome. You see, your dreams are an extension of how you really feel about yourself. Once you are able to recall and understand their content you will develop the power to increase your self-knowledge, self-awareness and self-belief. You will confront and express your inner feelings in your dream state and by learning how to recall them, analyse them and understand them, you will gain a more positive approach and develop your personal skills and qualities. By recalling and then understanding your dreams you will be better equipped to deal with the more stressful aspects of your life. You are faced with many decisions each day. Some are simple, like what to eat or what to wear, but there will be many more important decisions to make regarding areas of your life like relationships or your career.
